The CILA is putting together a program to help the forest industry and agro-forestry produce carbon offsets by reducing their diesel consumption, afforestation projects, fuel switching and other methods. We are currently working with Dr. Jurg Grutter from Switzerland, a world expert on carbon offsets in transportation, to develop a carbon offset protocol which will validate offsets and make them marketable. We're also working with FP Innovations and pilot companies to gather historical information and establish the baseline needed to measure carbon offset production and emission reductions
We've created the Carbon Offset Aggregation Co-operative of BC to act as the aggregator and broker for carbon credits, and as the co-ordinating body for the offsets production program.
